Multipurpose X-Band Marine Radar Network for the Minas Passage

Marine X-band radar locates vessels and features, including coastlines and buoys.  It filters distracting signals (eg. birds, ocean waves and vessel motion) from the image presented to the navigator.  The primary goal for this project is to update and merge two existing radars in the Minas Passage area, to create an improved system network.  The work involves software and hardware upgrades that will lead to greater radar coverage in the vicinity of the Crown Lease Area for improved tracking of bird movements, marine vessel traffic and surface currents.
